There are several mistakes to avoid to improve your experience in our laundromat in Ostuni.
Wash white, colored and dark clothes together
If the temperature is not correct, colored garments will tend to shrink and lose their shine, while white garments can take on unlikely colors or even take on a grayish color that does not make the garments look clean at all. To solve this problem, perhaps the most obvious solution is to separate the garments during washing or buy color-catching sheets in a supermarket.
For a good result, it is important to wash at the right temperature. It is best to wash light colored garments at a temperature no higher than 40°C to avoid them shrinking, while dark colored garments are best washed at a temperature no higher than 30°C
It is advisable to carefully separate the laundry, not only by color but also by the type of washing required. Towels, cotton sheets and work clothes, for example, should be washed with preferably hot water; wool sweaters or silk shirts, on the other hand, should be washed with very delicate cycles.
Wash dirty items with your regular laundry.
For hygiene reasons, it is always a good idea to separate very dirty items from the rest of the laundry: rags used for cleaning, soft carpets, fabrics and clothing for pets, pillowcases, and kennels should never be washed together with other items of clothing.
Overfilling the washing machine
An overfilled washing machine will have a counterproductive result: your clothes will not wash well and you will be forced to repeat the wash. In addition, overloading the washing machine risks causing damage to the transmission belts. The machine must be filled to the right level to ensure that the washing cycle is optimal and that the amount of detergent is correct. On the contrary, filling the washing machine too little will result in a waste of energy and useless detergent.
Leaving damp laundry in the washing machine
Wet clothes become impregnated with a musty smell and humidity that promotes the proliferation of germs and bacteria. To avoid this from happening, calculate the washing machine times well (through the machine display) and make sure you are present as soon as the cycle is completed. Then put the laundry in the dryer which not only stops the formation of bad odors, but also prevents the proliferation of pathogens and will guarantee you, in a short time, dry laundry.
