Some tips to follow before, during and after each washing phase in a self-service laundry.
Read the label carefully
Before going to the laundromat, it is always a good idea to read the label on the garment to find out which wash cycle and temperature to use.
In this regard, the guide on how to read the labels that you can find on our website can be useful.
Pre-treat stubborn stains before washing the garment in the washing machine
If you have a coffee, wine, or oil stain, it is a good idea to pre-treat the garment before washing it in the washing machine to ensure that it comes out perfectly clean
Separate garments by color, fabric or wash cycle
Whites and colored garments should never be washed together, because dark garments can irreversibly ruin white ones: to remedy this, we can either separate them or use color-catching sheets.
Furthermore, you should never mix garments made of different fabrics, which require different wash cycles.
You should always be careful with garments with decorations such as stones, beads or rhinestones, as they could come off during washing. It is best to wash this type of garment inside out or put it in a closed mesh bag. Resin-coated garments should also be washed inside out.
Finally, particularly dirty garments should be washed alone and not put together with the rest of the laundry.
Always check your clothes before using the washing machine
It is necessary that the pockets of your clothes are empty before washing them in the washing machine: check that there are no sheets of paper or tissues, pens, coins, paper clips or other metal objects, lighters. It is also preferable to put some clothes such as bras or items that have Velcro in a closed mesh bag. This will prevent the bra hooks from getting ruined or the Velcro from sticking to other clothes.
Of course, also check that the drum is empty so as not to find other clothes or objects not removed that could ruin yours; also check that the drum is perfectly clean, especially for hygiene reasons.
Leave the detergent at home
Our washing machines are equipped with automatic dosing: the correct quantities of liquid detergent, scented and long-lasting fabric softener, and sanitizer are dispensed at each wash cycle.
Fill the washing machine with the right amount of clothes
Usually, washing machines should be filled to about three-quarters of their capacity to prevent the clothes from being too compressed and the wash from being ineffective. Washing machines should not be run half empty, we would only waste water and energy. Important: the capacity in kilos of a washing machine refers to wet laundry, never dry laundry
Remove the laundry from the washing machine as soon as the wash is finished
To avoid the formation of bad odors such as musty or damp smells, it is a good idea to remove the clothes from the washing machine as soon as the wash is finished: if we are absent during the wash, try to calculate the times well to go back and use the dryer
Use the dryer
Put your laundry in the dryer and set the temperature according to the instructions on the label of your garments.
The dryer not only drastically reduces the drying time of the laundry (ideal especially in winter) but also helps to preserve the color of the dyes, since it avoids having to leave the garments exposed to the sun for a long time, thus causing them to fade.
Furthermore, using the dryer is the ideal solution to obtain cotton terry towels that are always soft.
Remove clothes from the dryer as soon as it stops
Even in this case, to avoid a musty smell, it is advisable to remove your clothes as soon as the drying process is finished
Fold clean and dry laundry
Once cleaned and dried, it is a good idea to carefully fold the clothes to eliminate as many creases as possible, thus making ironing easier.
